January Stated Communication

After a delicious meal prepared by Wor. Joe Parker and Bro. Jerry Camp and the Stewards Committee the Brethren retired to the lodge room with a full stomach. Our Stated Communication for the Month of January was opened in Due and Ancient Form with Worshipful Master Christopher W. Metzger presiding in the East. The Flag of our Country was presented at the Altar where the Pledge of Allegiance was repeated in unison. Our visitors were recognized as well as our 25, 50 and 60 year Veterans. Past Masters were recognized and Masonic Birthdays wer recognized for the month of January. Thr Treasurers report was briefed and bills ordered paid. The Secretary informed the Brethren that Bro. Harold B. Huey was the oldest member present at the young age of 94 years old. He is also the oldest Masonicc Veteran present with 64 years of service to the Fraternity. His son, Bro. Jeffrey L. Huey is the youngest Mason present with less than one year of service. Bro. Huey was raised on August 20, 2011. Executive Order No. 1,2 and 3 from the Grand Master was read,one request for a demit was approved, and the requirements for the "Master Quarryman Award" was briefed by the secretary. The secretary reported that our Eastern Star Chapter will affiliate with the Ashland Chapter after thgis month. He also thankd them for the generous donations made at the December Stated Communication. The Worshipful Master, having the program for the evening thanked the Lodge for his appointment, some of his programs for the year and then "Rededicated himself to Masonry for the ensuring 2012 year". Bro. Mike McDermott, our Lodge Educational Officer spoke briefly on " the Right Honorable sir winston churchill". He was given a round of applause for his remarks. Bro. Jeffrey L. Huey was present at the Altar and examined on his Master Mason Catechism by Wor. James C. Counts. After an excellent examination a voice vote was taken on his Masonic Proficiency and found favorably by a unaminious vote. He was given a round of applause and the Worshipful Master ordered the Grand Lodge proficiency Diploma to be presented at a later communication. The Worshipful Masster appointed a committee to head up the plans for our 100th Anniversary to be held in February 2015 composed of Rt. Wor. Mack T. Ruffin, III, Rt. Wor. Donald L. Kelley, Wor. Eddie Robinson, Wor, Christopher Metzger Bro. Carl Mendoza, Bro.Mike Carson, Bro. Mike McDermott. Committee Reports were given, announcements made, sunshine basket circulated with the funds going to the flower fund. There being no further business to come before the Lodge, the Master Mason Lodge was closed in Ancient Form and Harmony after reading and approving the minutes at 8:58 P.M.
