
July Stated Communication
After a delicious meal of hamburgers, hot dogs and all the extras served and prepared by our Boy Scout Troop # 795 the brethren retired to the lodge room where our July Stated Communication was opened in Due and Ancient Form. It being Senior Wardens Night, our Senior Warden, Wor. John L. Butler, Jr, PM presiding in the East. The pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country was repeated in unison after which the Craft was called from labor to refreshment. Mrs. Tina Andes from the Special Olympice, accompanied by Mr. John Howell and Mr. Will Daniel who is the special messanger gave a short talk on how much he was blessed in being a part of this orginization and what it has done for him in life. He is involved in all sports and has excelled in all by doing the best he can when he is challanged. Mrs. Andes then spoke briefly on what the special olympics does in supporting sport events and teaching them skills and how to cope with their disabilities. Their message was well received and given a standing ovation and round of applause for their remarks. Pictures were taken and will be part of our web page under events and pictures. The Craft was called back to labor by the Worshipful Master where the Senior Wardens were recognized. bro. Jonathan E. Turner , our Senior Deacon and Senior Warden in Meridian Lodge No. 284 was the only one present. The Worshipful Master called the lodge up and informed them that two of our brothers has laid down their working tool in life.The masonic history of Bro. Logan Norris Dyke and Worshipful Matthew Hugh Lloyd, Jr. PM was read. After a prayer was offered on their behalf the Wortshipful Master ordered a page in the minutes be dedicated to their memory. The Worshipful Master called our Educational Officer, Bro. Mike McDermott to the East wher he gave his usual educational talk on the Warden's Column's. His message was well received and given a round of applause. Bro. Richard Bruce Murray was presented at the Altar where he was examined on his Master Mason Catechism by Wor. James C. Counts, PM. After an excellent examination a voice vote was taken and was found favorable by the brethren to receive his Proficiency Certificate from the Grand Lodge to be present at the August Stated Communication. The treasurer's report was briefed, bills presented and on motion of the lodge ordered paid. Two brothers were suspended for Non-Payment of dues and one cited. A letter read from the Commemoration Advisory Committee of Henrico County inviting Glen Allen lodge to be a part of the 400 year Anniversary of Henrico County. A committee was appointed to head up this request and will report back at the August Stated Communication. Thank you cards were read, the sunshine basket circulated and the funds collect was to go the the Special Olympics. Committee reports and announcements were made. Their being no further business the Master Mason Lodge was closed in Ancient Form and Harmony after reading and approvong the minutes at 9:15 P.M.
